Here at American Bred Bullies Inc, we take pride in being as transparent as possible! Our main focus is having all of our grand puppies end up with families who will be happy with their decision for the entirety of their fur-baby's life! Being honest may come across harsh at times, our even look as though it is counterproductive in terms of sales, but to us, our main concern is our dogs and puppies' wellbeing.
We find that in being thorough and honest from our first interaction with our clients, we are able to establish a relationship based on understanding and an initiation into the future of becoming a part of the American Bred Bullies Family.
We can’t even count how many times people have assumed our dogs were giant Pit Bulls, and my simple answer to the ignorance is “Pit Bulls don’t come in 160 lbs.”! We love all forms of the bully breed, but with these comments we know the intent and stigma that comes with it.
The American Bully breed was developed in the 1980’s as a companion dog and originated from the American Pit Bull terrier. This breed was bred with the American bulldog, English bulldog and Olde English bulldog. Once the desired look was achieved, the breed began to branch off into different categories, ranging from pocket to xxl. In order to do this, it required the breeders to bring in dogs that would have the genetic material that would bring about the “look” that they were going for.
For our purposes, we are speaking of the xl/xxl category, that originated as a larger variant of the American Bully. They were developed through selective breeding (with breeds like mastiffs) to emphasize a more robust and imposing stature. Despite their size, the focus has always been on maintaining a loving and kind temperament, making them suitable for families and companionship.
This is a question we get all of the time! The question usually comes in the form of “ what are you feeding your dogs” ? Depending on who’s asking I’ll answer with some sarcastic remark like ” teenagers” , but … In short ,its all GENETICS !
We can’t stress enough how important the right nutrition is for a dog, but we hate to break it to you, it does not determine your dogs size or structure. This is why it is so important to do your research and meet the parents of your intended fur baby, as well as request photos/videos of the parents of the dam and sire.
As stAs we just stated , genetics will play the role in what your dog will ultimitally ultimatelybecomeas far as lookss look, health and tempermenttemperament! Seeing a piece of paper that tells you that the dog is f “said” blood line meansdosnt doe much these days . With the We reccrecommendphysically looking at the parents and at tehthe very least one generation prior to the sir Sire and Dam of you inteneded intendedpuppy. Ke; ing in mind that camera angles and filters are decivingdeceiving! If you have the oppoopportunitytomeet the poarents parentsin person, tattha would be the ideal ssolutionsisituation, but if that is not an option ask for many pioctures picturesand vidiovides of the parents and the pup itself.
Our dogs are registered with the ABKC. As previously mentioned, American bullies have their own kennel club here in the US called the American Bully Kennel Club aka the ABKC.; as they are not yet recognized by the American Kennel Club aka AKC> There is also the United Kennel Club aka the UKC, which is a international dog registery. Please keep in mind that each registry has its own rules and regulation on the way their affairs are handled.
After seeing our Males in person, everyone asks this question! In particular people are asking about the size and structure. We’d like to say “yes!”, but believe it or not the mom plays a bigger role than that of dad in the offsprings eventual development . This is why our Luna is the perfect candidate to lead our program in creating some amazing teddy bear like American bullies. If you look into lunas lineage your will find a line up of amazing American bullies, but more importantly we are looking at the males on her side. The female will carry down her fathers DNA, and with Luna having not only and amazing bully of a dad, but also both grandfathers , you can easily see how we have come to creat the teddy bears that we are proud to call ours.

At American bred bullies we breed LARGE dogs. When a person is looking to add a Large dog to the family it is typically for the size and structure of the animal. With that said, we cannot expect any animal to have the chance to grow to their full potential when their hormone making organs have been removed at a crucial time in their physical development. We do not recommend spaying or neutering our off spring until after 18 months of age. With that said we will not stop our clients from spaying or neutering their dog prior to this, we just like to educate and stress the fact that these dogs grow until about the age of three and will not develop properly with out the hormones that were put in place for that specific reason, development.
The ABKC registration is only viable for two reasons; one is to breed and two is to show the said dog. As we do not sell breeding dogs we like to try and avoid any kind of fraudulent activities, so we do not transfer any type of registration until the terms of our contract have been fulfilled.
